The Armed Forces and the indigenous people of the Amazon cooperated to find the children who survived alone in the Amazon jungle. Four children had survived – miraculously – 40 days lost in the middle of the jungle.

Weeks before, the Cessna 206 plane in which they were traveling had crashed between the departments of Caquetá and Guaviare, in the south of the country. The children were the only survivors. A search team, made up of about 200 members of the Colombian Military Forces and people from local indigenous communities, found the four minors.

Carlos Baena and Edgar Rodríguez, Captains of the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC) were selected to fly this mission and in this space, they will be able to share their experience in Operation “Esperanza”.
